SM City Masinag’s Cyberzone Cosplay Ramp Competition

Alas! A GrandLinePH FIRST! On August 18, 2012,
GrandLine Philippines took part at a cosplay ramp competition event at SM City
Masinag. It was a joint presentation of the SM City Masinag Mgt. and the
GrandLinePH crew.

It was less than a month of preparation and we
were really glad that we pulled it off. We didn’t expect the number of
contestants that day because of a same ongoing cosplay event at a different
venue.

The venue
was graced with cosplayers and enthusiasts alike. Photographers were present at
the event as well because the ramp competition was tied with another SM Masinag
event named Photosynthesis.

Cosplayers were given the opportunity to have a
one-on-one photoshoot with the photographers in which will be chosen to be an
entry at the Photosyntesis Contest that was judged by the Digital Light Photography Lifestyle Group.

We had a total of 32 contestants for the ramp
competition who competed in five categories: Best Chibi Female, Best Chibi Male,
Best Female, Best Male and Best Mecha.
The competition
was judged by Sir Jerome Ross Lacbayan
(Photographer), Ms. Ma-ann Hipol
(Marketing Manager of SM Masinag) and Biyo
Lucero (Head/Founder of GrandLinePH) under these criteria:
- Audience Impact: 10%
- Creativity: 30%
- Accuracy: 40%
- Performance: 20%
The event was hosted by two of the senior captains
of GrandLinePH, Kristalyn Hazel and Pachi Law. Both hosting for the first time
and handled the event very well.

It was a tight fight among the Best Male
contenders as they’ve showcased some of the great craftsmanship and
costume-making skills with their cosplay entries.
